We are incredibly proud to celebrate Rerewa Meha and Marcia Whakatau for successfully progressing through their first year as new graduate nurses — a massive achievement ![]()

What truly sets these wāhine apart is the way they care for Ngāti Pikiao patients and whānau. They bring a deeply caring Māori worldview to their practice — grounded in manaakitanga, aroha, and genuine connection. They are already creating safe, culturally affirming spaces where our people feel seen, heard, and supported.
Behind this success is the shared wealth of knowledge and experience within our nursing team. Rerewa and Marcia have been guided and supported by our incredible senior clinicians — Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Lead Sandy Duff-Timoti and Nurse Practitioner Nika Tuitea-Tuck — whose leadership, whakaaro, and commitment to growing our people continues to shape the next generation of Māori nurses.
This is what strong nursing looks like: emerging talent walking alongside deep experience, learning together, and delivering care that truly reflects our values as Ngāti Pikiao. ![]()
Rerewa and Marcia — you are a credit to yourselves, your mentors, your clinic, and your people. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what’s next. ![]()
Ngā mihi nui – keep shining wāhine mā! ![]()
